about the club
OGAE: Organisation Generale des Amateurs d'Eurovision
The members of our club come across music not entirely connected to the Eurovision song contest. OGAE Slovenia is interested not only in the Slovene pre-selection (EMA) for Eurovision song contest and the Eurovision itself, but also in the all major festivals in Slovenia: Slovenska popevka, Melodije morja in sonca, Hit festival and Gradevizija. Gradevision song contest or also known as "Gradevizija" is a club festival; all others are probably known to you. OGAE Slovenia is a member of OGAE family which counts more that 32 countries. Members of the clubs organize various competitions like Second chance contest, Song contest and Video contest.
SECOND CHANCE CONTEST (SCC) is the competition of national clubs where the song is chosen between the songs which were competing in the country's national pre-selection and was not chosen to represent the country in the ESC. The Eurovision like voting declares the winner of this contest. The winner country prepares the competition next year.
SONG CONTEST (SC) is the competition almost identical to SCC but the only difference is in the music. Members of the clubs chose their representative among all songs which are new that year. All music types are included. In the end the winner country prepares the competition next year.
VIDEO CONTEST (VC) is the competition of national clubs where the best video of the country is the contest. Like in SC and SCC the winner country prepares the competition next year.
CLUB HISTORY
The first appearance of the name OGAE Slovenia was in year 2000; club started operating in September that year. In the beginning members have had a "get to know" meeting and few meetings on the international bases which were held usually from Friday till Sunday. But in time some problems started to emerge and the ship called "OGAE Slovenija", slowly went down.
On 1.1.2004 the club was registered as an official club with the headquarters in Ljubljana. After that the things started to change and the club really started to blossom; the first donators and sponsors joined the club and the membership was no longer limited to Slovenia.
It's true that club hasn't made appearance in Slovene media world yet, but we are well aware that our time is yet to come. You know what everybody says: No pain, no gain!
Members
Momentarily there are 35 members of the club. The club has 21 male members (60%) and 14 female members (40%); from that 6 foreign members (4 male and 2 female).
We are by far the youngest club in OGAE family as the average age is only 27 years. Most of the members come from our capital city Ljubljana.
You can become a member of the club if you are 18 and you pay the members fee in amount of 25€.
